Frequently asked questions

What pickleball paddle is best for beginners?

Beginners usually want a mid-weight paddle with a large sweet spot and a comfortable grip - forgiving and controllable rather than maximum power. See the beginner paddles below.

Can I wear running shoes for pickleball?

It is not recommended - running shoes are built for forward motion and roll on the sharp lateral cuts pickleball demands. Court shoes are safer, and the shoes section explains why.

Are indoor and outdoor pickleballs different?

Yes - outdoor balls are harder with smaller holes to handle wind, indoor balls are softer with larger holes. Both are covered in the balls section.
